Michigan Community Development Association

MCDDA Logo

The Michigan Community Development Association or, MCDA, is a statewide 501 c (6) organization that enhances and supports the professional capacity of community development practitioners in Michigan, responsible for administering Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) programs. MCDA is led by an elected board and administered by SEMCOG staff. MCDA works closely with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Michigan State Housing Development Authority to ensure that practitioners receive resources, support, and training for administering state and federal community development programs.

MCDA and its affiliate organizations, Michigan Housing Rehabilitation Specialists Network (MHRSN) and Michigan Small Communities Association (MSCA), offer quarterly conferences and technical training on a variety of community and economic development issues. MCDA and SEMCOG are co-sponsors of the annual Michigan Conference on Affordable Housing, held in the spring.

MCDA advocates for public policies and resources that support community development, and works with other statewide and national organizations to support and enhance the CDBG program.

MCDA also provides members with access to direct technical assistance through trainings and forums.

For more information on MCDA conferences and training, contact Naheed Huq or Ken Bishop.
